Ok, so I’m on a chocolate kick lately, but can you blame me? I’ve spent the seeking on the bus or walking to work dreaming about all the things I’m going to make involving chocolate — I see a new version of the banana oat cookies in the future . . . I was also a day too late for National Spinach Day (who knew such a thing existed?), but nevertheless, this was worth the wait. The baby spinach adds zero flavor and one hundred percent nutrients to this not-so-green machine. Toss in bananas, almond milk, some almond butter and now you’ve got yourself a healthy Chocolate Almond Butter Smoothie.
Ingredients (serves 1-2 depending on how hungry you are!).
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 2-3 ice cubes
- 1 T almond butter
- Handful of baby spinach about (10-15 leaves)
- 1 packet of Aloha’s Daily Good Chocolate (or 1/2 t cacao powder — add less and you can always add more for a stronger chocolate flavor)
- 1 c unsweetened vanilla almond milk or milk or choice
- Dash of water
Please Note: I have received products from Aloha in the past. I only post recipes with their products that I have made and loved myself.
Directions.
- In a blender, blend ingredients until smooth. Add more or less almond milk as needed.
- Enjoy!
