Tastily Vibrant Tropical Smoothie

IMG_5549.JPG

Tropical Turmeric Smoothie Bowl seemed like the perfect combo due to its tropical flare to pretend it’s spring up in the Northeast. Pineapple, mango, banana . . . feeling like you’re on a beach yet? Also, do you guys like my sad attempt at “plating?” 😂 That aside, this smoothie was delish. I saw the idea for adding ground turmeric to smoothies from Gimme Some Oven and thought I needed it to fight the Monday blues from studying pharmacology. Turmeric is known for its anti-inflammatory properties. I turned the smoothie into a bowl because I found DRAGON FRUIT!! It was my first time working with dragon fruit, and I must say, the interior fruit is so mild and melon-like in comparison to its vibrant, funky exterior.

Decadently Dark Avocado Mousse

IMG_1254.JPG

I’ve been craving from Avocado Mousse and have been patiently, patientlyyy waiting for my avocados to ripen on the counter. This time, I wanted it to be dark — dark chocolate dark. Dark but even more healthy. You know what that means. I tossed in some of superfood power in Aloha‘s Chocolate Daily Greens (which includes servings of fruits and veggies — even more of a win win). Swapped for cocoa powder for carob, which was not intentional and totally by accident; I meant to buy cocoa but carob isn’t too bad. It has a different flavor than cocoa powder, but the dark chocolate helps blend everything together. A few minor changes and tweaks but still a delicious Dark Chocolate (Superfood) Avocado Mousse.

Craving Cranberries & Applesauce

Cranberry Cinnamon Applesauce

I always associate applesauce with the kind in your elementary school lunch or when you’re sick. This is applesauce for grown-ups. If you haven’t noticed, I took pictures of the Cranberry Cinnamon Applesauce in tupperware — it was that hard not to immediately consume. Bursting with cinnamon, the combination of the sweet Gala apples and tart cranberries is truly decadent. To top it off, this version has no added sugar (thanks, Aloha), you literally chop the apples and dump them in a pot and your kitchen may or may not smell like a Yankee candle. So take a bite of this naturally sweet and insanely delicious applesauce.

Deliciously Healthy Chocolate “Pancakes”

Chocolate Banana Pancakes

These can’t be that delicious and that good for you. Seriously, it’s not fair. I’ve made banana oat pancakes in the past, but was feeling something different. I have some of Aloha‘s Chocolate Daily Good Greens in my pantry and the addition seemed perfect. Here’s an updated version to the banana oat pancakes — Chocolate Banana Pancakes!

The Creamiest & “Smoothiest” Smoothie

Creamy Avocado Raspberry Smoothie

Yummmm. Literally yum. That’s all I have. I made this when I was fighting off strep and it was beyond delicious. The vitamin C and antioxidants from the raspberries were just what I needed paired with some of Aloha‘s Daily Good Berry Blend for a superfood boost. You can’t beat the creamy, smooth consistency that the avocado (yes — avocado in a smoothie!!), bananas and unsweetened cashew milk offer. It’s like taking a sip of smoothie heaven. You’d think you’re sipping a heavy cream-based ice cream milkshake and not the superfood-dense Creamy Avocado Raspberry Smoothie.
